Pastor Tony Hospitalized in Manila with Heart Attack
Early Tuesday morning, Tony woke me up experiencing signs of a heart attack. We took his blood pressure which was 221/120 with a pulse of 114 (he usually runs 55 or 60). Gave him some aspirin and took it again at 202/128 and a 109 pulse. We rushed him to the hospital. After several hours and many tests, it was found he had several blockages that required immediate attention. He went in for an angioplasty this morning. However, after finding the four places they wanted to place the stints, it was determined the stints they wanted to use were not in supply at this hospital. The doctor closed it down and decided to wait for the better supplies. They are rescheduling the operation for tomorrow. Thankfully, the tests also revealed that he had avoided any major damage to his heart. Praise the Lord! We can also see the divine timing in this all, because both of his heart doctors had just recently returned from trips abroad. The Lord had them here when we needed them. God is so good.
First and foremost, please pray for Tony for complete healing and restoration. Pray for his doctors to have divine wisdom and guidance. Also, please pray for them to hold down the costs as much as possible. Being in a foreign country our Medicare is useless, and they don’t sell medical insurance to people after they are 65 years old here in the Philippines. It won’t be near the cost of the U.S. health care, but what they do charge they require it to be paid at the time of service. I know the Lord will provide, but if He leads please consider helping us with this unexpected expense. We are guessing that it may be $30,000 to $40,000 but are not yet sure of exact costs
Thank you and God bless you for your prayers and support.
