Boni Valendez

Man lost his wife and

three children in flood

This is Boni Valendez, pictured above. He lost his wife and three children in the flood last December in Iligan City, Mindanao. He was breaking into tears while describing to me the event that took their lives. My heart was breaking for him!! He had left the house to go and see what was happening and find out what to do, but when he tried to return the flood was already under way in his village. The water was so deep even the roofs were not safe. They found dead bodies strewn in the trees the next few days. He never saw his family again. They were all washed out to sea.

I remember watching all the news about it and could see in the pictures where it hit devastatingly as they described the ferocity of the flood, but only standing there where it happened can bring you a real picture of the event. I pointed at a location on the river and asked him if that was where there used to be a village with hundreds of people and he said yes. I remembered where the site was from the newspaper photos. Most all of the villagers died that night the same as his family.

We walked around the village where the houses had been flooded and it was just heart wrenching. In the very place where we were standing, there used to be a nice church that was completely washed away and most of it’s members were lost the same night. Whole families were gone. I could barely hold back tears as we were talking, just seeing the devastation. This is ten months later and there is still a tent village with thousands of people displaced with nowhere to go. There were approximately 5,000 residents killed in the flood that night with little to no warning. Most died from drowning and some from being crushed by logs. This is where we took a team for mobile training this last month.

Hundreds were born again. Pastor Stephen Villaester from All Nations Christian Church, who was our host for the training, has a continuing ministry there.

Free Gos-pill!

Just take a number and wait your turn!

One of our students Pastora Rose Tayrus, Iligan City had a free “Gos-Pill” line going here in this picture above, left. Like going to the drug store and just taking a number and waiting your turn. We told the students to practice evangelism doing one on one at a time and she took it serious! Here they are lined up waiting for her to share the gospel to each of them individually. All five of these youth were born again. They just waited for their turn to be saved! Wouldn’t it be nice if we could get Americans to do this. Wow!

“No more tomorrow

It’s going to be today – NOW!”

Boylen Batinigas from Bible Community Church

“Before the seminar started I was expecting that this would be only a little improved method compared to the traditional methods of evangelism I had known. But I was wrong – as the lecture had finished I said to myself ‘Great formula! Great method!’ I could feel the joy and excitement build. My confidence is higher, I conquered my fear, the fear of rejection. Every ticking of the clock is important to those lost souls awaiting to be saved…time is important to six billion souls needing salvation. No more tomorrow – it’s going to be today – NOW!” (Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation. 2Cor 6:2b)

The time is now!

Hearing these testimonies from Pastora Rose and brother Boylen I just got a picture of all the lost souls in the world out there waiting to be saved. They may not think that is what they are doing, but in the spirit that is the only thing any of us are really here for – to come to know our Lord, love and worship Him and do His will. Like the young people sitting on that table, waiting in line for their turn to receive the Lord in their hearts, the lost of this world are truly just “awaiting to be saved” like brother Boylen said. They are waiting on us to come share this glorious Good News! (Lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest! John 4:35b) It’s time for us to get up and get into the fields all around us and get to harvesting! The time is now!

Above: Pastora Santa was a very aggressive soul winner and she actually prayed a prayer of salvation with all three of these Muslim ladies. When you’re living all together in a tent city and you all have the same things in common like losing your loved ones and homes, things just get down to a simple reality check don’t they? Most of us can’t imagine losing everything including our families. Personally, I don’t think I could survive losing my family. These Muslim ladies were very open to hear the gospel, isn’t that a blessing? Sometimes tragedy will open the doors of our heart to hear the truth. Amen?

My mouth wouldn’t stop!

Pastora Santa Bacalso – Sr. Pastor, Mount Moriah International Global Ministries, Cagayan de Oro City (pictured below left)

“I came from Cagayan de Oro City which is about two hours drive to Iligan City. Before I came, during my devotion time, I always had the feeling of emptiness, as if something is lacking in my life and ministry. So when I was invited by my niece, Pastora Elaine, to attend the Stealth Evangelism seminar, I was expecting that this will be the answer to this emptiness…After the lecture on Stealth Evangelism, I was very happy… I knew that this is what I was looking for. For the longest time, I have longed to evangelize my neighborhood.

Stealth Evangelism so impacted my life that during practicum where we do our one-on-one witnessing I did not feel any tiredness and my mouth wouldn’t stop telling all the people that I encountered about the gospel and they got born again! Ministering to the people in Iligan, both the muslims and Catholics alike brought joy to my heart and how I wished I could stay another day to witness more. My heart was changed especially when I realized that there are forgotten people in my life. Now for sure, my everyday life will be busy witnessing to my friends and loved ones, leading them to the Lord.

Now, after taking Stealth evangelism, I have the courage to witness. I have passion for souls and the burden for lost loved ones is lifted because I can now share salvation with them in a friendly manner without any offence to them. I thank God because He led me to attend to this seminar which brought an end to the emptiness I felt in my heart about winning souls for the Lord. I am sure when I get back to my church, there will be a great revival in our city as we teach Stealth Evangelism to our members. Hallelujah! I am so very excited!

My prayer is that the ministry of Dunamis will continue and Pastor Tony and his staff will have the funds to go to other places to teach Stealth Evangelism and that those that take this course will be encouraged to support this ministry like I intend on doing!”

I came expecting!

Eva Turla from Baptist Conference Church in Iligan City

I came expecting to learn a new method of evangelism. I had read the invitation to come, along with the testimonies of Pastors who had attended before. I felt excited and wanted to learn how they could evangelize and win so many souls to the Lord. I was blessed by this method and am now more passionate to share the Good News with other people…I desire to multiply myself. To teach others to evangelize, obey and respond to the Great Commission!

Dunamis takes

Stealth Evangelism to

Iligan City, Mindanao – Sept. 6-8

We flew down to Mindanao Island to take the Stealth Evangelism Program to the pastors there in Iligan City. The training went well and the pastors were blessed learning the technique and all the strategies we have developed to assist pastors in building their churches and expanding the kingdom of God.

We are so blessed to have the opportunity to take this program to churches on other Islands simply because they don’t have the money to fly up to Manila and take the class at our mission center. If we could afford to fly them in to Manila it would be great, but that really is not feasible and most of these pastors are at border line to full blown poverty. Their dedication to the Lord is absolutely admirable and our hearts go out to each of them. We just Praise the Lord for the awesome opportunity to put the weapons of warfare in the hands of these great men and women of God.

We are on the frontline of warfare for the souls of men here in the 10/40 Window which is the most densely populated part of the world with more than 4 Billion people, 9/10 of them are lost folks. You can be of help in getting this strategic training in the hands of pastors like these every month by committing what you can to make sure it happens. Calli and I have committed all we have to this, all our own income including my social security each month, but we need more and this is wonderful ground to sow seed into. These men and women of God don’t have much but the things they learn in our school helps them grow numerically, which means more members, more finances and more workers for the building of the Kingdom. Please help us make this happen. We need more monthly support so we can do more mobile missions like the this one in Iligan City. Thanks for all you’ve done and all that you’re going to do partners.

We love you,

Tony and Calli Poole

60 – 70% of Manila Flooded!

Manila Flooded Aug. 2012Manila Flooded Aug. 2012

“Rain, rain, go away, come again some other day!” We know this is not what you are praying for in the US where you have been gripped with drought conditions for some time now. But this has been our cry for almost two weeks now. We have had over 12 days of rain during which 70+ people have died from drowning, electrocution and mud slides. Torrential monsoon rains have flooded more than half of Manila. We are all safe and dry on high ground here at Dunamis, but our hearts go out to all those being affected by the storms. Several hundred thousand are displaced and almost everyone has been affected in some way.

The city has been at a standstill with more than half of Manila underwater. Power was turned off in some parts of the city as a precautionary measure with the waters seeping into electrical facilities. Schools and offices were shut down as key roadways were submerged by waters that in some areas reached over head level. Many people had to retreat to their roofs to await rescue or huddle in crowded evacuation shelters. The head of the Philippines’ disaster agency said, “It’s like a water world!”

Some of our former students, pastors in Bataan have been affected but have yet to be able to return to their homes and churches to see the extent of the damage. We expect to hear from many others who have been hard hit. We are asking for anything you can spare so we can help them and their members with food and necessities in the coming days as the water recedes and they work at clean-up and disinfecting their surroundings. We count it a blessing from the Lord that our Mission Center is out of the flood zones, we wake up every day with the reality that there are so many people that are now homeless because of the floods. We cannot just sit here and do nothing.

We are dedicating this newsletter to the flood victims all over Manila and the surrounding cities that have been affected by this enormous monsoon. I’ve never seen anything like this in my life time which is quite a while if you know what I mean. There are so many pastors and their families that have been wiped out by the flood. We can’t possibly help them all, but I do believe that all of us can do something to help. It is heart wrenching hearing their stories of dismay and calamity that we can’t even imagine. Most Americans have some sort of insurance for such things. These pastors don’t have money to purchase insurance; most of them are below the poverty level on income and can’t afford the monthly payments for it. So they are stuck with losing everything they have in the world and trying to pick up the pieces and continue on. These pastors live in very humble dwellings that most of you couldn’t imagine living in, yet they survive and preach the word of God throughout their lives. They need help! Will you please pray earnestly about sending something to help them? And please pray that the rains will stop and give them a reprieve, it is pouring down again now as I am writing this.

We are attaching many photo’s just to give you and idea of the seriousness of this situation. Manila is one of the most densely populated cities in the world and it is prone to calamity. This is an opportunity to help the men and women of God who are faithfully serving the Lord here in this city and country. We are praying for the Lord to guide us to those He would have us help. Praise God for this wonderful opportunity. Let’s lay some of our lives down for our brothers and sisters, Amen?

You can go on line to our website and give using your credit card or send your gifts marked “Monsoon Victims” to our U.S. address: Revival Fire Ministries, PO Box 30487, Amarillo, TX 79120, all donations are tax deductible, just make out your check to Revival Fire Ministries International or RFMI.

Again, thank you so much for listening to the Lord,

Tony and Calli Poole

Batch 57 July 10-13

Batch 57 July 10-13, Seated on second row from left Pstra. Sonia,
Ptr. Tony, Ptr. Steve, and Pstra Elaine

Next Class will be Aug. 21-24

We have 21 pastors signed up for the next class beginning on the 21st of August. Last month we trained 35 pastors before the monsoon hit. The two previous classes, batches 57 and 58, won more than 1,600 people to the Lord. We have a lot of good testimonies from them and will share some of them in our next newsletter.

Pastora Sonia and Pastora Elaine (pictured above) will be accompanying Ptr.Tony to Mindanao Island on September 5th -9th for a mobile training seminar for 30 pastors in Iligan City. It’s right on the border of Muslim territory, so be lifting them up in prayer. Bishop Stephen Villaester, pastor of All Nations Christian Church, Intl. is hosting the Stealth Evangelism Training. They are extremely excited about having Dunamis come and help ignite a fire of evangelism in their churches in Iligan. Bishop Stephen and his church are a part of the Anglican Church. Praise the Lord! We feel so privileged to bring this fire of evangelism to the Anglican churches here in the Philippines.

We really need your support to do these mobile seminars. We have so many opportunities, we could do a mobile seminar every month to different Islands, lighting fires from Island to Island, please pray about being God’s financial instrument in helping us help these pastors all over the Philippines bring salvation to so many thousands of people.

We love you! Tony, Calli and the staff at Dunamis

Thank You! Thank You!

For your gracious & abundant help while we were in the US!

Praise the Lord, we are all home now. My heart is full of thanks to all of you who helped us along our way when we were in the US. From places to stay, vehicles to drive, places to speak, feeding us and just blessing us all around. Thank you all with all our hearts, it was amazing to watch the Lord work through you. We love you! May God bless and repay you all a hundredfold!

I know much was accomplished during our time there that was needed done, so many things that had needed our attention for so long. God was gracious, guiding us all along the way. We are close to being over the jet lag now and back in the swing of things here at the school. I am soooo glad to be back here where our hearts are!

Ptr. wins

Our largest need right now!

Staff opportunity for Dunamis:

Pastor Winston “Wins” Alinea!

Pastor Wins is a real opportunity for Dunamis International School of Missions. He is not only a seasoned pastor and is currently pastoring a church in Laguna but he also has all the skills we personally need of someone to help us with the daily running of this Mission Center. Pastor Wins is a trouble shooter for all kinds of mechanical, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and on and on. Plus he is sharp in the ministry and will be able to help with the training in our school. If that’s not enough he can help with the driving and knows his way around Manila so he can help me get to meetings and mobile training and do just about anything that we need done. Wow! I hope that you hear what I’m saying and will please help us hire him. Pastor Wins will fill a very much needed position with the school. We can hire this awesome man of God for the school for about $300 per month. He would live on site at the center 6 days a week. Please help us with a monthly commitment, if you can’t do it all, commit to what you can do. We desperately need him yesterday! This is one of our largest needs right now!

Thank you for helping us hire Ptr. Wins.

Philippine Mamp

Training Seminar in Davao City

on Mindanao Island

We are planning a training in Davao City and another in Panabo City on Mindanao Island which is the largest Island in the Philippines and is south of Luzon Island where we are here in Manila. Davao has a population of about 1,500,000 people. It has a heavy Muslim concentration, but it is also heavily populated with Protestants and Catholics. This should be a significant launching of the Stealth Evangelism Program on Mindanao. We expect thousands saved through this effort and you can be a part it! The churches there are going to help with lodging and food so our expenses will be minimal for this trip. These two seminars are going to cost right at $2,000 including airfares for the team and all related expenses. Wow! $2,000 for of thousands of souls! And that is only the very beginning of the perpetual soul winning and multiplication that will come from doing these two seminars. The eternal effect we can only imagine! Isn’t this fun?! Don’t forget to mark your gift Davao so we can put the money where you want it to go.

Visayas Islands Seminars

We have an invitation to bring the Stealth Evangelism Program to Negros Occidental in the Visayas Islands through a mobile seminar. Bishop Chito Sanchez with River of God Ministries in Manila will partner with us to bring our program there in the next couple of months. These are churches for fisherman and farmers, so it’s a very low income area and we could use some help with the finances to bring this training to them. I know that the Lord wants us to go there and we are looking for His provision to do just that. This group currently has at 31 churches that want us to train their pastors and leaders. If this pulls at your heart strings to help, please mark your gifts for Visayas so we can make sure it goes to help these pastors. I can tell you from experience they are a very humble, contrite bunch of men and women of God willing to lay down their lives for the spreading of the Gospel. An estimate for this seminar is $2,900 including airfares for the team to Bacolod and transportation etcetera for approximately 5 to 6 days.

Palawan Island Seminars

Another very important training in the planning stages is Coron in the area of the Busuanga Islands in the Province of Palawan. There are seven churches there that want us to train their pastors and leaders. Then we would proceed to Puerto Princesa for a training in one of the largest churches in Palawan with Pastor Ancho Buenaventura. We can train 40 to 50 pastors and leaders there. The cost of these seminars together will run in the neighborhood of $3,500. I believe that these two seminars will have a huge impact on the Island of Palawan which is approximately 892,000 in population. It will be like setting a wild fire that will ultimately consume the Island. This is what evangelism is all about, reaching the unreached, Amen? Please step up and help with this project. It’s God’s provision and we can’t take it with us, but we can take these souls with us, Hallelujah!!! We have $1,000 already donated and marked for the Palawan seminars. So mark your gift Palawan to make sure your gift goes to the right seminar.

The best tool for reaping souls

is in our hands!

Praise be to the Lord God Almighty for this privilege and opportunity to attend the seminar on Stealth Evangelism. Above all, I give back all praise, honor and thanks to our mighty Savior Jesus Christ for giving me a chance to learn, adopt and absorb all the teachings, skills and abilities. I am also thankful to Pastor Tony and all the staff for sharing the blessings, knowledge and experience to us.

This is an awesome experience for me, a new adventure in seeding the word of God, and reaping souls. I have learned different tools and strategies in soul winning, but Stealth Evangelism’s approach is very unique. Simple yet powerful and effective. Most people will not be intimidated. Usually, I share the gospel for more than an hour and some people are bored and not interested anymore because of very long explanations, a lot of verses to say and memorize.

Thanks be to God for this Stealth Evangelism that will help me train the church entrusted to me by God, the leaders and members for I am sure the best tool for reaping souls is in our hands! I know this piece of paper is not enough to detail everything that happened during and after this seminar! May God bless each one of you. More power to all.

– Ptr. Dano
